I finally bought a corvette. It's a 1977 and it needs some work. My husband is not mechanically inclined. I had older brothers (that live 600 miles away) that fixed everything for me when I was living close to them. I've got a few friends that are retired airplane mechanics that have helped me with a few things. I bought a repair manual and I'm working on it. I got the headlights aligned so that I'm not blinding traffic! Most everything is cosmetic except the speedometer quit (my GPS tells me how fast I'm going for now) the other day and the right turn signal/brake light isn't working. It runs great. I've got it idling at the proper rate from the repair manual. I'll try to post pictures later.
Congrats and welcome. Don't be afraid to ask questions...there are plenty here who have tons of experience and advice. We'll anxiously wait on your pictures!
Congrats LeAnn. I suggest you get the AIM (assembly Instruction Manual) specific to your year corvette. It will come in very handy. Can not wait to see the pics.
Congratulations on adjusting the headlights. Sometimes the screws can be frozen and be a pain but you got it done. Good for you!!!
Replace the bulb in the right rear to fix the brake/turn signal problem.
Sounds like the cable for the speedometer is broken or the speedometer head in the dash is bad or the gear in the transmission is stripped. Probably the cable....check that first.
Good Luck!!!

Welcome aboard LeAnn.
I'd suggest finding a shop that specializes in Corvettes. Might cost a little but in the long run you'd have piece of mind in knowing the work was done right.
Don't forget to wave!!!!
The car being heavier could possibly have something to do with the good ride but if you are looking for more responses to your post you may want to start your own thread. Even though the O.P to this thread seems to be missing in action.
