I finished the Camaro about a year ago and have been bored since. Wife of 49 years and 11 months got tired of me moping around, so she said I could buy another project if it was a corvette and if it was done in the colors she wanted. She wants black exterior and bright red interior. The 75 only offers a dark red, but the 74 shows a bright red.
So my first question is, will 74 interior pieces interchange with a 75? Thanks.
While I realize that what I'm about to say may get some eyes rolled by my fellow members, I just used Duplicolor's Vinyl Paint to change my resto-mod '75 Coupe from red inside to black. I got the idea from Stacey David's Gearz show on Speed. I can't speak to the durability, but it let me "git r dun" with a very quality look until I can afford to lay out the cash to repurchase new door panels, dash pads, etc.
My wife is a freak when it comes to her pickiness and she is most pleased. After all, isn't that the bottom line....
I also used Duplicolor on the camaro's dash, door panels and other plastic parts. I went from pea green to black. After one year it is holding up very well.
On the corvette I need to replace several pieces of the plastic trim and was wondering what other years might interchange. Due to the high cost of new I am trying to find good used and color doesn't matter.
Congrats on the vette and a loving wife and good looking Z (my favorite style, partly from Gary Busey's bitchin' yellow camaro in Gumball Rally)
Are you planning on taking it back to original? If so, I'll take those rims as they aren't original
First thing you'll want to get is the Assembly Instruction Manual (AIM) from any vendor. That will be your Bible in order to take apart and rebuild your vette.
Use your forum discount at Willcox and get your stuff from them. Good stuff at great prices from great people.
Post any questions you have and you'll get some good answers.
Welcome aboard!

It depends on what the part is. 75 was kind of a mix year from what I can tell. Some stuff ended in 75 but others carried on to 76 and 77 (not much past that since 78 went to the glassback. Most 74-77 parts should interchange though, and here is the place to ask that for verification and possibly locate some of them.

I can't say enough about Ebay....and local Craigslist. I'm going to the Daytona Turkey Run this Saturday. I can get some names/numbers for you to contact if I see stuff that will work. Tell me what specifically you need.
The pic I have attached shows one of my favorite auction results. I bought a pair of red door panels in good shape (digital photography doesn't show all of the flaws). I prepped them very well and then used the Duplicolor spray (satin not glossy) and I couldn't be happier. I also bought the pair for $125 and sold my worn out originals to an upholsterer for $100 for a new of $25 + about $12 of prep chemicals and paint.

A little progress in the past two months. Removed paint with a razor blade, removed all of interior except A/C box and broke a perfectly good windshield. I now have the body ready to lift and plan to do this tomorrow. Just finished the dolly and hope it fits. Plan to use two straps and two come-a-longs attached to my 2X12 joist. Hope all goes well.
