prndl...nice car and good video. What speeds were you running around the speedway during the laps?

I intentionally started at the rear of the pack so I wouldn't slow anyone down. Mostly C6s and a ZR1 in our group. There were 2 slower cars in front of me that kept me under 90, but I really didn't care. The rest of the field almost lapped us! If you slow a little and let a gap grow you can easily run it up to 120 on the straights and some of the guys probably did a bit more than that. There is a pace car in front (going 80-90) and a pace car at the rear to keep things from getting too crazy.

Sounds like fun. I did the same thing with my small block four speed 76 at V.I.R. in May in several 25 minute driving sessions which is a road course of 3.27 miles with 17 turns and two pretty good straights. It is not banked but it does rise and fall 170 feet which on a turn makes a flat track reaallly interesting! The first session I was inexperienced and very slow but it gave me time to learn and the next sessions I dropped my lap times by a minute each one which satisfied me. I did hit something like 120 on the straights but one is a rising slope crest at the end you cannot see over followed by a turn a bit away so it took me some experience before tromping on the gas pedal going up that but I did. It makes me wonder if there is a classic car day at our banked D shaped Nascar track here, Richmond International Raceway. If there is, I might drive it in my car. There are some here who do what you did on the Talladega track in a big block and they actually hit 140 mph plus with their cars.

Thanks for sharing..those experiences like you had are just priceless.

Never thought of it that way but you do have a point there.
