Cleaned up my wheels
On a '82 CE, inside and out.
Took about a whole day between the removing, cleaning, balancing, detailing and installing again.

I'm curious about this too. I've got to clean up the rims on my CE and hopefully they can come out close to yours. Did you use any type of specific wheel polish? My painted area isn't too bad but the aluminum/alloy part is going to take some work.

I used Meguiar's Super Degreaser and a scrub brush for the first two passes on the tires and wheels. Then for the inside of the wheels I used Bill Hirsch Miracle Rust Remover And Metal Prep along with a medium scuff pad twice as well as with a tooth brush in tight spots. Then rinced and dried and balanced with coated stick-on wheel weights mounted on the inside. Finished with Meguiar's Ultimate wax.
