Default TOOLS: The Ultimate Creeper

Check out this new style undercar creeper: http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/extras...-creeper/#more

One (or more if you're a glutton for punishment) could be yours for the low, low price of, drum roll please, $700-$1200.

What will they think of next?

but for $1200?, I would add another $600 and get myself a two-post lift instead!

seriously though, having your car secured safely on jack stands costs MUCH less, I always use 6 jack stands when working under the car, with the additional 2 set in the middle of the car.

The bad part is it probably wouldnt really help unless the hoops happened to hit the frame. Cool idea though.

Pricey? You bet but as Jay Leno says "when you are the president of the more money then brains club" why not? Out of the price range for many of us but..........if money is no object can you put a price on some additional safety? I think not.

If a creeper isn't feeding me, massaging me, or providing other 'necessary services', the 20-buck one at Advance Auto will do just fine!

Until your jack stands fail and the vehicle falls on you crushing you to death. It happens, often. Do a google search.

I have to use jack stands because I do not have a lift at home, and I am always a little nervous being under the car. I use HD 6 ton jack stands, hoping they are more than enough for the job. While that creeper is expensive, my life is worth more, much much more. I am seriously considering their "budget" model at $650. Maybe they will give me a break because I am Canadian!

Give it a few months and I'm sure they'll show up for $50 bucks at Harbor Freight. Made in China of course.

I can't afford the creeper but I am buying another set of jack stands for backup after seeing those cars collapse!

I guess that's one 'problem' I don't have to suffer. My 4-post lift with several positive locks along its travel prevent that kind of risk. But, if I were still working with jack stands, I can understand your concern.

But, why not put that money to better use by getting a lift? Heck, you can buy one for only 3 of those fancy ($650) creepers!

I am always under the car. I am really thinking of a 2 post lift as a result!

You can buy a whole load of jack stands for $1,200. I use 6 ton stands too. If just one of my stands can support two of the vehicles I'm working on, I'm comfortable with two or more holding up one end of it.

Better yet - for 3 of those fancy 4-post lifts ($2000) just replace the car when it has problems !

Never take off, to expensive. I use tall stands even with my lift. Like someone already said, if the support goes up the tranny tunnel you're still toast.
