Anyone ever hear of Pypes Exhaust? I am looking for something LOUD for my 81. I was told that PYPES # PYEMVV10 is louder than Flowmaster Serise 40 muffler. I have never heard of Pypes, has anyone else? TIA
They make several different mufflers. I have the Race Pro and really like the sound, not to loud, but they wake up under hard throttle.
Glad to hear that, I just put them on my '74. I got the "headers back" kit. I haven't heard it yet but there were two things I didn't like.
1. The engine in the car is offset to the right a little and so are the holes in the transmission crossmember. The exhaust system is symetrical so I had a hard time getting the tailpipes centered in the back of the car.
2. The pipes they provided were a foot short of the headers. I had to add two pieces and couldn't find stainless so I have two pieces of aluminized pipe right after the headers.
I guess I have three things, the instructions they gave for their hangers were useless.
I have the Street Pro's on my 69 427. They are fairly loud, and a little hard to describe. To me they sound like a mix of turbo style and chambered style mufflers. Here is a link to their website, with lots of sound clips. The "Violators" sound pretty loud.
