What manifold? What material is it made of? What paint/coating did you use? What instructions were on the can?

No way of giving you good advice if you don't supply some basic information.

I'm restoring my OE iron manifold. Just using Chevy orange duplicolor. I've never tried to cure one in an oven to see if the paint lasts a little longer....

Not sure it will do anything. Your best bet is to paint, install, then do a few gradual heat cycles, letting it run longer each time. It should not go above 200 degrees or so as that is as hot is it will ever get. Too much heat and it will peel unless you use high temp paint (1500-2000 degree), then you can get it hotter, but it is not really made to get very hot. Keep it simple.
