Milo, really sorry to hear about the '78, I was rooting for your conversion coming together. I can see why you don't want to fight that windshield rust.
The '81 looks NICE! Great colors and in good shape too! Enjoy!
John
Thanks. Too be honest I am bummed out about not finishing the '78 and I just can't really enjoy this car. I like it but it is like something is missing and I can't put my finger on it. I think it was the stubbornness that I kept telling the wife and everyone else that the car would get finished that now I feel like I failed and just bought a car that someone else did the work to.
I'm hoping I come around more to this car. Today was my 2nd day owning it and I didn't even take it out for a cruise with the warm weather.

you made an inteligent decision on the stop work , on the 78 because of what you found (rust)
give this new beauty a good going over , drawing from everything you have learned, including the time spent on the 78
up-grade the sound system or custom leather wrap the steering wheel or buy the exact floor mats that you want ...do what you got to do to make it absolutely yers & go out & enjoy !

Do yourself a favor and sell your new '81 Corvette.
When driving the '81, your wife, your friends, and especially you will always be reminded of your failed '78 project. Likewise how you are driving someone else's accomplishment. That is why you are not enjoying your '81.

Don't listen to anyone negative on this board. So many times in life I have found myself missing something that I had before (e.g. ex, car, motorcycle) only to realize that something better came along. Time heals all wounds and that new car of yours is beautiful - enjoy her

Thanks everyone for the comments. I took it to work the other day and enjoyed the drive. I deal with negative people every day at work so I am used to just ignoring them. I'm just wondering if I am going to get a bill for the online therapy session.

Your "bill" will come in the form of purchases you make to upgrade your vette to your liking. It is endless. But very relaxing and fun. If you have a family let the kids chime in on what they would do/like on the car. Trust me, the more you change/add on to this car, the more it will become a part of you and the family.
Excellent looking Vette. Forget about the 78 and drive on and enjoy what you have. Alot of good advice on this forum and then there is some "not so." You opened yourself up for Clubby's response but probably not the best guidance ever offered.
