so i saw a few 79s that had a 82 front clip/bumpers i already have a spoilered rear fiberglass bumper but i would really like the 80-82 front bumper set up if it will mount rite up like the rear did is this swap a straight bolt up thing or does it require modification or fiberglass cutting ? not that i am too concerned with the opinions of one or two negative people but is it thought to be a super bubba move by most c3 guys if i swap the years around
The aftermarket fiberglass places carry 80-82 lookalike bumper covers for the earlier cars. Installation is not as simple as bolt on. Expect to have to do some hand fitting.
I have no idea how Bubba gets involved in this. It's your car, do what you want.

Awesome thanks mike I just see on threads people who said those awesome looking steel bumper conversions for the later years were " the ultimate bubba move" I don't agree with that at all but I don't want to listen to a bunch of that crap if I take it to a meet or a show when I get it finished if I had the cash an handn't already got my new rear bumper I would be installing the chromed steel bumper conversion kit but as is I'm only looking to spend a few hundred dollars my rear bumper is brand new ecklers Fiberglas an it only cost a hundred bucks god bless Craigslist so figure $300-400 on the front an I'm good to go
I was just trying to see if the majority of the guys on the forum feel the way I an you do or if it is a c3 culture to keep the cars looking correct to factory I would will hopefully have the car driving and painted by June so I can go to the SoCal c3 meet this year in 2012 I am excited about that
