If you can pay off the loan in April....why don't you just wait to take the trip in or after April. It will save you a lot of money.

step back and think this thru... if you can't afford to go on this trip, then why do it?.. I am not saying to not get married, just don't do the trip.

keep in mind that once married, then both should contribute to the marraige.. I hope you have planned on her payng her share of the honeymoon as well as subsequent marraige and therefor family expenses?

any bride requireing this type of expenditure, should be at least paying half...

I see that most posters are questioning the use of the money which I do agree with. However to answer the OP question, a credit union is going to be your best bet. The title loan places usually have very high interest rates, some let you keep driving the car and some don't. If you visit a local CU, explain to them what you are wanting to do and the issue with your credit, many will listen with open ears and minds. If one turns you down simply go to the next one in your town.

Several years ago I was in the same position you are, needing cash fast. A few months prior, like an idiot I took a $13K cash advance on a credit card to buy a 1969 Z28 clone. (long story) I then wanted to get a regular car loan for it but the regular banks basically laughed at me. I went to a local credit union, explained my situation, and they agreed to help me but I had to do a few things on my end. First I had to get the car appraised, I then opened a checking account with them, setup $250 per check to be direct deposited in to the account. I let that run for 2 or 3 weeks so they could see I was stable. Then I applied for the auto loan. Seeing that the credit card was almost maxed out hurt me originally but the loan officer explained what I was doing and the credit union would end up with a $13K loan on a car that appraised for $20K. They okay'd it, I got the check, gave them the title, paid off the CC, and life was good. On top of this they gave me a very good rate considering the circumstances, 3.5% for 4 years. I currently have my '81 Vette with them too but I did it right and called ahead this time.

Nothing worse than going more into debt just as you're getting married. IMHO.

Don't do it wait until you have the money

I have seen title loan places with interest rates as high as 300%. Once your title is pawned, you basically pay the interst until you get tired of paying, then give them the car.

It would be better to sell it than to pawn it. At least then you are getting close to what it is worth instead of 25% of what it is worth.

Don't do it.
