Does anyone know where I can get a title loan for my 82 vette? A Google search shows many sites, but BBB advice makes me cautious. I am planning my honeymoon trip and need the cash. I would rather not sell, since I will be able to payoff the loan by the end of April. A divorce 2+ years ago has made it difficult to find funding. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!
There are a few title loan places around. They are probably going to take possession of the car until it is paid and have outrageous interest. A local credit union would probably be your best bet to get a personal loan using the car as collateral. If you can't qualify for that then you are probably not going to find any other options that are going to be good.
don't do a loan through a pawn shop or the like. Normal banks probably won't do it because the car is too old, but a credit union might especially if your a member there.
Honest advise, don't take a loan!
Plan a honeymoon trip for the end of April when you can afford it.
Nothing worse than going more into debt just as you're getting married. IMHO.
jrc.... as much as this advice will sting.. please just take your girl/wife for a ride to a local place and spend (ALOT OF) time with her.
She is not marrying you for money... rather, for your passion. Passion for life... passion for her... passion for your hobbies... they are ALL the same.
Show her the same passion you show for your vette and she will be your best friend forever. Regardless of "where" you two go together.
Just PLEaSE don;t borrow money in todays economic environment.... It is not a wise thing to do.
77C is right. Don't go into debt for a honeymoon. You'll find that the 4 months planning it for April will be fun and will make it that much more exciting
I agree with the advice given above, don't borrow money for a honeymoon. If your future wife loves you she will understand but if it's her idea to borrow the money then you need to reconsider your choices.

I would agree against the loan as well. But you do only get one honeymoon. You don't want to regret things. So really see what you can get done before taking out a loan.
Be creative. Look up things like "activities for <input state>" or "tourist attractions in <input state>". You can find a lot of things that are local and don't cost a lot. There are also a lot of deals out there.
I was interning in Colorado this past summer when my gf came for a visit. I planed about 4 days of stuff to do and it only cost about $700. We went white water rafting, zip line touring, camping, hot spring relaxing, cog train ride to the top of one of the 14,000 foot mountain tops, trail/mountain exploring, etc. An absolute blast. A lot done together for relatively low cost. The white water rafting and zip-lining were about $320 total alone. That was about half the cost of the trip, so replace that with something less expensive and you could have events for a week and be good on cost.
But this does take time to plan. So waiting to April might be better anyway.
Honest advise, don't take a loan!

If you can't afford the honeymoon without taking a loan, you shouldn't be taking a honeymoon like the one you have planned. You can certainly have a satisfying honeymoon closer to home, within your budget. Once the honeymoon is over you won't have a loan to pay off and you can enjoy your Corvette.

Agreed, do what you can afford, do a nice weekend away, then eventually do something bigger.
Sell it. 82's are a dime a dozen. Then blow the proceeds on the honeymoon. That'll show your bride you really love her.
ARE YOU NUTS?????
I'd say do the other way around so to speak... The Corvette and the future wife will both cost you a lot of money, the difference is that the car will hopefully increase in value over time.
