Default Tank Removal

I am going to help a friend remove the tank on a 77 next week and just wondering if anyone has any advice on how to make it easier. We have a lift so that will help but already know there are issues with rusted bolts. Thanks

Start spraying the bolts now, biggest thing is the exhaust. Bolts should come out np. Replace the rubber fuel hoses when you have it out. Make sure you use fuel line and not vacuum line that Bubba at the parts store said was ok.....

Something to consider... when I installed my new tank, I tossed the anti-rattle pads and replaced them with urethane foam weather stripping. Picked it up at Home depot. They have a self adhesive backing. Put a strip on each of my tank straps too. When I dropped my old tank, the OEM pads crumbled they were in such bad shape. George McNichols in his book "How to Restore Rolling Chassis 1968-82" recommends the urethane strips so my idea wasn't original.

this is the best idea for replacement. they should last you a long time and will definitely do the job.

Thanks all, we already order the replacement anti rattle strips but we can return them and go with this idea.
