Default 1972 Corvette Tigershark?

I am constantly on craigslist looking for parts and I came across this add stating that this 1972 vette is for sale. Sends me pictures showing the front having no popup lights. The guy has other cars that he rebuilds and races so I vouch he is competent. My question is what is s tigershark?

A tigershark is when some guy cuts apart some old C3 and modifies the crap out of it then giving it a nickname. It was a common mod to remove headlights and put them down in the grill back in the day. Sounds like an old custom modded car to me.

Any pics?

According to wikipedia a tigershark is, Galeocerdo cuvier, a species of requiem shark and the only member of the genus Galeocerdo. Commonly known as sea tigers, tiger sharks are relatively large macropredators, capable of attaining a length of over 5 m (16 ft).

apparantly the length is the only thing remotely close to accurate when it comes to a corvette.

I guess this is the car you are talking about. Maybe the guy means Stingray? The tigershark corvette refers to C5 and C6 with supercharger and body kit. The price is very low on this car which throws a red flag in my opinion.

Ask the seller what a Tigershark is supposed to be. I'm guessing some type of old conversion kit, but that's only a guess.

Post pics. Someone might recognize it.

You think $4800 is low for that car? Looks like it needs a total renovation. I wouldn't pay that much. What throws the flag to me is the claims on the 1000HP Brand New 327 and the "trans in restoration mode".

Have you seen the car in person? Looks like it might possibly be more of a project than you might want.

I saw 327/370 hp. But I love projects and would take a look. TX car should be solid.

No I dont think it's low for that car, I think it's very low for a 72 which tells me there are problems with this car.

Where do you put the shifter on a TH400 to get it into "restoration mode"?

I would shift all of my cars to that position and let them restore themselves...

My foggy old brain fuzzily recalls someone using the expression "Tigershark" as some sort of Motion/Maco type custom conversion ripoff back in the 70s, but I cant remember for sure.

However, the pic of that car just looks like some junky custom project overpriced by 100%.

As far as the 1st for sure a another custom from back in the day. I'm pretty sure there was also a model kit with the same name.

Oh and the add car don't walk away....run away.
