Of course they care about the money, that is what they are in business for. These types of issues pop up in here often. The blunt truth of the matter is, the dealers aren't responsible to inspect everything on the car for buyers. The buyer has to physically go to the car and inspect it or hire someone to do it on an old car. There is no other acceptable way to buy a used car.

I'm not taking up for them specifically. I think they are way over priced on what they sell and wouldn't buy a car from them for that reason. A car can be found much better priced locally in most cases. Still in their mind, they may have even known of the issues and priced it accordingly (under their outrageous pricing).

If you can't inspect it prior you got to atleast have a contract giving you rights to refusal at time of delivery.

I agree with you both. One it is over 30 years old an you have to expect some flaws. But if the engine isnt running an that is not how they advertised it then turn in a complaint with better business beuro. The reason people buy from a dealer long distance especially a large dealer like them is that you expect a certain level of professionalism an curtesy to the customer. As far as corvettes go mine is a heap I got ALLOT more work to do than I originally thought an I test drove my car twice before purchasing it. She drove fine both times I put a few hundred miles on it. Found some swaying an loose feeling when cornering an when I went to "freshen up" the suspension. I found that while several parts looked fine an tight an no wear was visible or heard the car ha been rattling itself to death under the body. I feel bad for you but also I only payed $3k for my 79 so I got what I payed for. My suggestion write as many bad reviews as you can on as many business rating websites as you can then email ALL of them to the man in charge. Tell him if he will help make this mistake right you will remove your bad feedback to their company that has worked for me in the past an someone who doesn't want bad pr hanging over their head will fix the problem even if they would rather tell you to **** of its just business

I guess this is the car?

If the idle speed and antenna were the only things wrong on an old car that you bought sight unseen, you should be writing a letter of thanks and not whining.

Are you saying it WON'T RUN under 1500rpm, stalls out or dies?
Or it just won't idle down?
Have you run it long enough to fully warm it up? Probably a simple choke adjustment/fast idle speed adjustment.
I've turned the fast idle down in each of my Vettes. Factory setting is just too high for how we now use these cars 30 years later. I never even drive in cold weather!

As for the factory antenna, I would say NO 78-82 Vette still has an untouched original working antenna!
It's either not working, replaced, or repaired. They just don't survive for 30+ years! But ProTeam should have the capability to repair it!
Just redid one for a guy with a 5 mile Pace Car.
PMed ya about the antenna.

Yeah...I like the "original" signature from 1998 on the window sticker...that's clever.

Did you make a visit to Proteam and look this car over before you bought it?

Maybe it would have been a good idea to have paid an "independent" for an inspection BEFORE you bought the car. You're 1/2 way accross the country and if the car is paid in full (which I would think it would have to be) what leverage do you have now? As others have said if that's all that's wrong you can take a deep breath of relief.
Good luck going forward!
