Gentlemen, do any of you have any tips or procedures for removing the door opening hardware on a 1982 corvette? It seems awful tight in there and I need to replace the door opening assembly. Also, any direction when I might find the door opening asembly?
The assembly instruction manual (AIM) has diagrams of how the door opening mechanism was installed. Are you wanting to replace the door opening handle or the latch?

I want to replace or repair the, for a better word, handle. The spring has corroded to the point that it has broke and the "handle" does not return to the flush position (Pushing in on the handle will still open the door). It appears to be a removable assembly with two nuts and a rod connecting fitting. I have seen these assemblies at the Daytona Turkey Rod show held at DIS this past Thanksgiving holidays, but didn't know I needed one at the time.
There is a small spring clip you can buy which can be installed w/o removing the door handle.
Otherwise, I didn't find the removal/reinstall of the door hardware THAT difficult. It's tight, but take your time and use swivels and other tools as needed to reach the screws and nuts. Good luck,
