Does anybody know of a lifter bore grooving tool made by someone other than Comp Cams? They want about 150 clams for one, that sure seems like an awful lot of money for a pretty simple tool.
Sympathize with you, as I always felt like I paid too much for my mushroom lifter tool, but didn't know of alternatives.
I've got a buddy who swears he has a complete mushroom setup for a BBC leftover from the 80's in his attic. I want to get my hands on it and do some playing just for fun!

Yes, the EDM oiling makes good sense.
Jim, I've got to dig around and find that tool so I can give you a good look at it. Works really well, and takes far more time to debur afterwards than to actually modify the bottom of the bores in the first place. I've given some thought to doing a mushroom instead of the solid roller for that 427 BB of mine. Hmmm. I wonder if anyone does EDM mushroom lifters...
