Default Need advise on C3's

I'm an ex A body guy looking in to getting another classic. I stumbled across a 71' LS-5 survivor but really don't know much about C3's. I looked it over today but really don't know what I should be looking at in these cars. Anyone out there can give me some tips about them what I should be looking at?

Thanks

Davo

Look for rust in the birdcage and frame. C3s susceptible to this. Ask for all owner documentation that you can get. Decide for yourself how important originality is as this will impact asking price. Collector car market is soft so negotiations are to your advantage

Have a knowledgeable C3 bumper car guy check it out with you.

There is a lot to know and mistakes can be very very expensive.

Lots of very expensive "pitfalls" in these cars starting with RUST.

Agree. Plus fill out your profile some more.

If live near me I'd go look at the car with you.

Hi Davo,
71 BB.... NICE!
I agree that you can't learn enough, quickly enough, to be sure of what you're buying.
Finding someone who is familiar with 71 cars to look at the car with you is a very good thing to do while the money is still in YOUR pocket!
Regards,
Alan

See if you can find a copy.

Discount the "survivor" status until you see the car.
