I need to replace the driver's power window switch on my 1973 coupe. We already clumsily cracked the emergency brake console, unaware of the rear bolt accessed through the center storage compartment.
I suspect there are other bits of special knowledge needed to avoid any more mishaps.
There really isn't anything hard... once you recover from the rear bolt... The only thing I can tell you is to make sure the slide moves freely before putting the screws in the console and that you check it with the handle gently. If the slide catches something under the rear of the center console it will break.
