I know Zip and Ecklers offer replacement molded carpet sets for around $300... Seems a bit pricey for such a small amount of carpet. I've checked Lowes and a couple local outlets, checked AutoCarpet Direct online, did a quick search and I'm coming up zeros.
Everything except the sets offered just look cheap. I'm wondering if anyone on here has tried another route with success. My interior resto is getting expensive, and though I don't want to cut corners, I'd like to save where I can. Any thoughts?
Hi s,
I guess some of the price is for the molding that's done for the 2 front pieces and the 2 wheel well pieces.
I'm sure you can buy the proper amount of rolled carpet from the carpet suppliers, but I'm not sure how you use it once you have it.
Regards,
Alan
Thanks Allen... That was the thought. However, the Al Knoch set comes with the jute backing, already molded, and looks like the way to go. Even if it is a bit on the pricey side.
I'd hate to do all this work and end up having the carpet look cheap. So I'll wait a couple weeks and order it up. Not like I can drive it right now anyway.
