I am slowly taking my car from "bubba" back to original and I just purchased some original manifolds. I currently have headers going back to dual exhaust and I was wondering if someone made exhaust pipes that will attach from the original manifolds to the dual exhaust or will I have to get them fabricated? I am not ready to switch out the whole exhaust yet (low money) and the duals are in good shape.
The new piece just needs to come from the manifold down to where the long tube headers attached.
I'd never all a true dual exhaust system with headers "bubba".
The odds are not in your favor that there's anything off the shelf that will match up - you'll either need to purchase an entire kit or have someone fab up the downpipe section.
I'm not sure what you're asking. All C3s had front exhaust pipes from the stock manifolds back to the cross member. If your car originally had dual exhaust, the stock pipes might be all you need.
Check out Corvette Central's or Willcox Corvette's websites. They offer stock and "off road" style exhaust system components and complete systems. You'll likely find the bits you need at reasonable cost there.
Easy mike,
I think the stock pipes coming from the stock manifolds came down in to one pipe? Do you think I could just cut them where they meet my dual exhaust? I have dual pipes coming from my headers now all the way back thru the cross member and out the back.
Markids,
I saw what you are talking about on the "off road" style. That may be what I have to get. Or get them fabricated at the muffler place.

You could try a pair of 68-74 stock pipes, but as others have mentioned, quickest and easiest would be to take it to a muffler shop and have them make and install your pipes.
Take a picture of what you have and email it to sales at willcox@willcoxcorvette.com. I'm pretty sure we can get you two header pipes that will work. You can call us at 800-588-3883 too..
Also, just to be sure include the casting numbers off the manifolds you have and if possible the size if the exhaust at the transmission crossmember.

I would have to agree, just what is so "bubba" about headers and a dual exhaust, unless it is incompetently hacked together? We talk about Bubba because he is stupid and incompetent, not because he puts headers on his car.
The current exhaust leaks everywhere. The joints were not welded together all away around the pipe (just spot welded) and they come out in the rear near the center. One points straight back and the other is pointed out a little. Eventually I will go all stock but as you all know, it is pretty expensive changing everything back to stock.
Everything in the interior is complete just need to put the new carpet in and finish the body mounts (in the process of doing those now). and over time I will work on the outside and engine compartment.
