Default ? of value.

I have this ongoing project that stalled a few years back and recently had to move them out of indoor storage. Victim #1 is my '80 , the frame is rust, probably beyond repair I discovered this when I was starting to fix the R/R spindle bearing , no idea about the birdcage but its probably toast too considering how bad it leaked from the top of the windshield when I'd wash it. Its a former L82 ( P.O. installed a target 350 ) with a automatic. It ran really strong , Pearl White with a Blue cloth interior. At one time it was an awesome looking car, sadly not anymore. Victim #2 is a '82 Champagne Beige [IMG][/IMG]that I bought from a forum member, its basically a roller, no motor, trans , interior, wiring, steering column , or box, the frame is cherry, I have documentation from G.M. saying it was delivered new to Oklahoma , I bought it from Grapevine Texas. My plan was to change over running gear etc. to the '82 and just have a driver, I also was going to change it over to a 4 speed . Sadly my situation has changed so drastically that I am starting to realize that I will not be able to ever get it done. I will attempt to post a few pix's. What do y'all figure I can get for this package deal without causing any hard feelings, I honestly have no idea $$$wise, Hey, thanks for any opinions or interest,,, Peace, moosie

Well, I cant attach any pix's but will e-mail any to whomever wants some.

I'm sorry man that sounds Ruff. I'd say you maybe can get $2-5,000 tops in my non expert opinion. Unfortunately for you there are sooo many cars for sale right now. People just aren't wanting to get into such a massive project unless they get it for a steal in this economy too! I I really don't know what kind of dollar to put on it but you might be better to see how much of the swap you can do yourself with just labor an leave it a 350/350 car no manual trans you'll be sure to get more money out of a solid running car than a bits an pieces project

Thanks Jesse for your comments, Yes I do know that more can be gotten for a running, driving car, & that the remains can be parted out. I've been into Corvettes since my very first purchase of a new '67 Lyndale Coupe, so I somewhat understand the game ! Unfortunately I lived life TOO full in my younger years and now have issues and other priorities. Thanks . Peace,,, moosie

Moosie, I don't want to start any bad rumors or even get into your personal business, but I hope and pray everything is ok health wise. You have been around the forum for a long time and always got involved in many topics. Hopefully this time you will get the answers to make the right decision for you.

No, the decision is made. I will try to let this project go to someone who will see it thru to its completion,, if thats not in the cards then for as long as it takes I will (God willing) finish it up somehow so my kids can enjoy it and do as they please with it. They are both "car people".
Peace,,, moosie

Aside from why you are parting with it that is your personal matter that i really dont want to ask about. What opinion(s) does anyone agree or disagree with b/w or around say $2,000 as the low point if it has to go? I am just curious about the original question by moosie what do you guys think he can get from the cars as is how correct or far off do you guys think I am in a price of low$2k but problably not above high $4k. I just don't see it someone giving more than that. I am not saying that your cars arent worth more moosie just saying I don't think you will easily get that or more in this economy. Would enjoy finding out I'm wrong what do you guys think?

Moosie, you can post pictures just like every other member. Dont try to "attach" them. You have to upload them to a service liike Photobucket, then copy and paste them into your posts.

Well. the best way to calculate this is the eventual value of the 82 with the used parts installed. A key issue here is that the blue interior cannot be used in the Champagne car, which means the buyer still needs at least seat covers and carpet, and probably door panels. The rest can be dyed.

Absolute top end for the 82 has to be what, $5-6kish with wrong motor and needing more to finish?

I would have to guess the package would top out at $3500. The sum of the parts is worth more, but people buying a project like this will probably want a bargain, especially if they are picking up 2 rollers from your place and will have to dispose of the 80 skeleton.

Moosie,

If you have health problems I wish you well! I've been a little "off" recently and know the feeling.

UH OH, no, NO health problems other then my legs which have been going down hill lately,,,, mostly problems of the heart,, relationship wise, easily solved , the 'Vettes ARE NOT a part of that. I just lost interest, probably cause I've been slacking off on it (the cars). Thanks for your concern, really. I didnt want ta mislead anyone. Peace,,, moosie
