When I changed my column from a non-adjustable to a T/T many years ago, I put the original column in a box and forgot about it. It is black and in good condition with only 35k miles on the car at time of replacement. It has the original key and worked great. Now I would like to get rid of some old parts and wondered if anyone can give me a good asking price value before I post it on the F/S forum. I also have the original steering wheel.
Straight columns are not worth much. Everyone wants tilt/teles, so the straight columns don't bring much. Also just like you, many other owners have replaced their straight columns with teles, so there are plenty of them out there.
I've gotten $75 out of 69-75 straight columns, but have never been able to sell a 76 up. I haven't had much luck ever selling a 4 spoke "Vega" wheel either.
If you can get $50-75 for the wheel and the column, I'd say you did good.
