Does anyone have a C3 painted with BLACK DIAMOND paint? It has a ton of flake in it. I saw it on the new CTS-V at Detroit. Just curious as to what you think it would look like on a C3.
I'll take a shot at it. Its hard to see the real color in the picture you posted, however if it's good enough for a cadillac, its got to be beautiful. I would imagine in the sun, it would burn your eyes with the sparkle. Thats a good thing.
My wife's '09 Jag XF is finished in that color. It really pops, and one good thing....the flake tends to hide a lot of the swirls, and little blemishes that a daily driven car will acquire.
The trick, IMHO, will be getting a C-3s body smooth enough to make a black paint job look good.
You asked for opinions and here's mine...BLACK should be BLACK.
From a few feet back it looks like it has a permanent layer of dust on it.
My perfectionist brother-in-law bought a new SUV with a hint of metallic in the black paint. He's the type that will find and point out every imperfection in someone's vehicle.
I rubbed my finger across the paint and looked confused when the "dust" didn't come off.
He got agitated and told me it's glitter inside the paint, looks nice and is supposed to be that way.
I said cool, built in dirt so when it really is dirty you can still say it's clean!

He traded it in within two weeks of that comment.
Now that is funny!!! Think this color looks good... Is this a little darker black than the Carbon Flash metallic on the new Vettes???

It actually looks gray on certain angles. The flake is much more than in the pic someone posted. I took some better pics, I will post them later. I don't want plain paint. I also like the Carbon Black Metallic on BUICK. It has smaller flake.
My car is a custom, so I need some eye popping paint.

That Cobra looks good.
There's a serious difference between "eye-popping paint" and something that looks like a kitchen countertop from 1965.
