I did mean the whole plate - shift console plate is how it's listed in Willcox. Decided to replace the fiber optics trim and restore the original. More money to spend on other goodies!
Is it me or does $245.99 seem like a lot of money for a 69 shift console plate?
Given the fact that you can get one at a swap for under $200 every day of the week and they are very easily restored, I'd go that route.
Come to think of it, if you still have your original, restore yours. I usually opt for new parts for interior pieces because they almost always look better than refurbishing older parts, but the console plate is an exception.
PS: looking above, I should have waited 1 more minute to post!
I would say to restore your old one, little talent and you get to still have an original, instead of a repop. Here is a pic of my 73 I didmyself, and one I did of a 74 as well.

How did you get the chrome to come out so good? My 82 is plastic and the shiny stuff is off in a couple of places.
The older ones were metal. All my chrome was under years of overspray from PO. Not to hijack, but how do you restore the heater control plate? I can't even figure out how to get it off? Any pictures?
Absolutely.. But then Trim Parts makes this item and they set the price. The sale code would save you 10 percent off but that is still to high IMHO..
To me.. refurb looks just as good and is very easy to do.
I understand and respect the fact that you don't always have the leverage you would like with a manufacturer. Getting ready to place a sizable order later this month and am looking forward to saving 10% !

The early ones are chrome underneath. If it's damaged, you cant really fix it, However, if they are intact after you paint them, you can carefully remove the overspray and paint on the raised areas like letters and it looks like new.

Theres cables that the wheels are attached to that run into the dash area. After detatching those, you can remove the assembly from the underside. There's no "restoring" that part. Buy a repro indicator plate, wheel set and clear lens from any vendor, they all have the kits. It looks absolutely new when installed.

Then there's the weird version (service replacement) that has the optic lamp indicator words on a glued-on aluminum label. I wish I kept a picture of the one I had.
I cannot understand why they moved the lower mounting holes up. No symmetry to it. The new position looks out of place to me. I have never seen the six hole ones. Thankyou Mike for showing them to us.
