Default Sellers of C3s say the wierdest things...

Check this ad out. Guess he needed something to make his 76 coupe something rare...
http://dallas.craigslist.org/ftw/cto/2846927495.html

I love how in the pictures you can clearly see where it says "stingray" on his fender...

I had to tell him the word over the opening behind the front wheel on the bottom left picture said Stingray. Also told him they ended in 76.

Just so he doesnt get embarrassed.

I think he should already be embarrassed...but I am sure someone will reply to that ad that has no idea and will believe him, and then they will tell someone else....and then they will tell someone....

The guy probably should have played up the 4-speed. Fewer than 1 in 20 76s had a manual and if the engine is the L82, I'd imagine it would be rarer still.

I zapped him with a Prohibited flag. The rules definitely say you can't make false and misleading statements intentionally.

I also dislike pictures like this. It tells me he is hiding something since the picture is almost worthless.

Most people have no real clue about their car. And 90% of them will openly lie for whatever sells the best. Maybe he'll get it to someone who will love it.

I know, Chevy called them a 1968 Corvette Sting Ray in all the Chevy literature.

You could have fooled me about that fact...I do own a 76 4 speed and you are correct....46K were built and a little over 2k had 4 speeds...

Thanks .....MY 76 just went up in value...by at least 50 bucks the way I figure it.. LOL

9933 out of 46568 had a four speed, so better than one in five, not less than one in 20.

Guys see the close ratio production number and assume that is the total 4spd number which it isnt. There were 2,088 close ratio out of the total and then the rest..So Bob if your's is not a close ratio forget the $50.
