Default headlights from different year???

Does anybody know what years for headlights are compatible with eachother? I have a 72 vette (new guy to the forum), was able to get a set from a 75 for nothing and was wondering if any or all of it would be compatible? thanks for the info if you can help

Only the horseshoe bracket is different. Everything else is the same.

here's what I have found:

68 unique
69-72 same
73-74 same but diff from 69-72 b/c the change with molded front bumper, will work in earlier model car but must have a small spacer between front nose bar and front tabs of horse shoe bracket.
75 & up much shorter extensions on the horse shoe and won't work on earlier models

HTH,

Sully

Yes. Your 75 lights will mount in your 72 with 1/2" spacers on the two front mounts (nose bar) of each support.

Do you have the 72 assembly instruction manual (AIM)? The AIM has several diagrams of how the headlight assemblies were installed. Your 75 units will mount the same way as shown in the AIM with the exception of the spacers.
