Excellent. Looks like that bracket I found is the one for that purpose. Now I know where it mounts. Thank you so much!

I wonder when they made the change to the one piece bracket?

That original location looks to me like it could burn your leg from the heat of the bulb! Also, with a 4-speed you need all the leg room under the dash that you can get.
That location looks like it is in the way. The one piece bracket has the lamp more in the center and up higher. It also eliminates an extra bracket. Lou

That's a good point Lou, I have a one piece bracket I just picked up as an option. I may try both and see which I prefer. I'm not overly concerned about originality in any case. Since the two piece style was only used a short time it may be of value to someone who is going for "correct" form.

Never had an issue in 22 years of driving it....but then again I'm a vertically challenged individual (5'8")
68/BB...you are welcome! Have fun putting all that back together!

Well a couple of those pics are older and it is much further along than shown there. The dash and wiring is 95% complete. Just gotta finish off a few pieces under the dash such as the light on the driver side (the passenger side is all done) Then move into finishing the console area and seats, outside trim, etc. Thanks
