Sure he could get 18 for it. Nice curb appeal interior looks clean whats not to like?
Sure noones going to walk away because some hoses and expendables have been replaced.
First impressions sell a car, that one looks sweet.
I think this is probably the only market for this car. It may appeal to someone who thinks it looks nice and wants a C3 driver. As joewill suggested above the purists will walk away from this one. The original engine and a 900 code are certainly a plus but you have a base car with all that work to do. It would not make sense to restore it.
I had a restoration specialist look at the 68 last nite, it was his opinion after carefully going over the top and underside of this car that the wheel flares were added to the original fenders both front and rear. He stated that ther was no evidence that the fenders or rear clip had been replaced. He theorized that an earlier owner wanted that custom look, thus the wheel flares, big block hood, and filled in rear valance. So that being said the car is going on to e-bay as a 68, block matching vin with the 900 tuxedo black paint code, and the hardtop option. I guess we will let the market set the price on this car. Thanks for all your comments and opinions and as stated earlier this was a great thread.
Unless you are in the business of restoring cars (especially a body guy)....if all it cost you was time and the materials were cheap it would be doable. Now, if flipping for max profit was the goal, maybe no.
I still think even after all that most of the big money purists would still walk away. if I was looking for an all original I would not want one that was put back to right....I would want one that was never changed from right. JMO.
