Since arriving in late November, she's spent about 5 minutes on the road before this weekend...an engine rebuild and then some, the body shop, and finally the detailer, and home at 5p last night.
It was worth the wait! She runs smooth, drives great, and looks be-a-utiful. Here's a pic- The light was disappearing so the bright yellow color looks off, more later...
That's one sharp looking 73! Did you have a rebuild thread or did you do all this work incognito? Would love to see what's doing under the hood and more pictures of the new paint. Congratulations!
Keith in space, I had to drive my 68 for 4 1/2 years after a divorce, through the worst winters Cleveland,Oh had in '77 & '78. The wiper door was engineered to break 3/8 of an inch of ice. I can vouch for that! Mine gave me trouble only once and I thought it was the wiper motor, but it was the limit switch on the firewall. A 68 does not have the vacuum "switch" by the wipers. I think that they can be trouble prone. I have had my car for 38 1/2 years.

Loup68, i dont want to hijack this thread, so would you mind posting pictures of your 68 from 38 years ago and current?
Lupigiato 73, I will start a new thread. My wife will have to help with the pictures. It sounds like it is a pita to accomplish! I think that I only have a couple old ones.
Looks fantastic Kevin... Looking forward to more pics when you have a chance...

Why thank you!
I did not have a rebuild thread (other than the "oh cr@p I have to do a lot more work to this car than I thought" thread)...dropped it off at the mechanic about a month ago, maybe more, the mechanic sent it to the body shop, I picked it up Saturday and took it to the detailer, and voilá...here we are!
Had everything taken car of on the car- the rebuild, every leak, every squeak, all done. I am completely surprised at how well this car runs and handles! I've driven quite a few '68-'72s and my own '64, and power aside, this one beats them all hands down. The improvements they made in '73 were really nice ones.
I admit I have to agree on the wiper door, 90% of the ones I test drove didn't work. I kind of like the aggressive long hood too. I do like the chrome front bumpers though, but all in all I'm really happy with the '73 model year.
Took her to work today, I'm seriously amazed at how well this car drives! Not a squeak or rattle, cruised down the freeway at 70+ smooth as silk.
A couple more pics from the parking lot today- here she is with the top up (not the original canvas one, this one was custom made by the previous owner from Mercedes canvas), and a view of the cockpit:
