Default 3500 rpms

i have an 81 230 hp..just wondering aprox how fast is 3500 rpms on the highway....and my ashtray lid/cover came off is there a trick to get this back on or do i hafta take it apart?? thanks all!!!

So..I'm guessing your speedometer isn't working..
There are other things you would need to know besides the RPM's , like your tire size, gear ratio.... if you have a cell phone most have apps for speed...or you could just wait till you get stopped and he'll probably let you know how fast your going...

190hp was all you got in 81. Ash tray door is fixable from the underside of the console. Doesn't take much to remove the console. Purchase the assembly instruction manual (AIM) and follow the diagrams. There are two hidden screws at the bottom of the center cluster.
