Shopping around for paint jobs now. Here's the '81 as it sits currently.
I took pics of the damage that needs to be fixed as well. I'd love to learn to do the work and do it myself, but time is not on my side on that one, so I'll probably pay more and get it done this decade.
Damage on wheel well -
Damage on right rear corner -
Damage on left rear corner -
Bent frame extension -
Rear damage more visible, with fading paint on deck lid -
I'm still kicking around what color to go with, though I'm leaning towards Victory red, charcoal, or black. It was originally a two tone red/claret car (which I don't like)
Thanks. They were on the car when I bought it. I have to run spacers to clear the calipers, which I don't particularly like, but I'm looking in to some adapters.
Sorry, but I'm thinkin' double ouch here, with body crack repairs and new flex bumpers. Let me guess. With full strip, repaint and bumpers. $15K sound about right. My brothers in San Antonio, and that Texas sun can be brutal
Do you have any cooling problems, with the front spoiler all smushed in like that?
If there is a trade school in your area that teaches autobody, they might take it on for the cost of materials, which is typically half of the charge for bodywork and paint. The students are supervised by pros, and I have seen some nice paint jobs come out of them. It might be worth looking into.

Keep the shiny side up!

Not really, but possibly only because it hasn't been running that long. I've got an aluminum radiator with electric fans, so it ought to stay cool in most situations, but the air under the car definitely is not flowing as designed.
