I was using a Holley Street Street Avenger 670 cfm until it started leaking fuel and caught fire. Turned out to be loose float adjustment. Fuel leaked out, puddled up on intake and poof! It ran great and I was very happy with it until this. I would still buy another one though...

Not an LT-1 but I'm running a Holley 650 with mechanical secondaries on my 427/390 and it pulls great. Seems to be plenty of carb right up through 5,500 RPM's. Nice low and mid range torque. If you're worried about it not being enough carb, I think you will be OK. I talked with Holley tech before I put mine on. If you don't live over 6,000 RPM's you will be fine and may realize superior volumetric efficiency throughout the low to mid RPM range.

OHHHH! I see you had those Junk Moroso clear float bowl screws. I had one crack and fail on me years ago, luckily I was 2 blocks from home when it started to leak fuel onto my motor. I run with the factory brass screws now and throw away any I find on carbs I rebuild.

Yeah, I bought the car that way. Sad part is I only owned the vette for 2 months...then the fire. Now I am doing a complete frame-off resto. Hope to have it back on its wheels by the end of the summer!

Thanks, the car is 100% stock, I think I might just have it rebuilt again. its hard starting, it floods, let it sit for about 10 minutes and it starts right up, runs great until I shut it off, then restart, it wont idle? I think its possessed!
