Default hoods

what aftermarket hoods will work with a RPM AIR-GAP intake and not have to use a dropbase air cleaner and still see out the winshield?

Default L-88

G'day,

I've read here that the L-88 hood will work, depends on the thickness of the AC element, I guess. I'm looking for what DROP BASE AC will fit on a '74 with an Air Gap, but retaining the use of the small diameter filter and still using the Cowl Induction set up.

Maybe someone who knows will chime in.

Regards from Down Under.

On my 69 I use an L88 hood with a drop base air cleaner and an RPM air gap with a 1/2"' spacer and a 4" tall filter 14" diameter

L-88 hood on my 80, with a Billet Speciaties oval air cleaner.

Tried a 4 inch KNN element, but it was a bit too tall. Had KNN make a 3 inch element for it. Fits perfect. This picture is with the 2 inch element that came with the air cleaner.
