Default Production Number question

My uncle is having me look into some things for him and I just can't any production numbers on his car. Can someone help me out or send a link?

He's got a 1981 4speed Black exterior with red interior. All his numbers match, so I'm just trying to find out a few more things for him.

Thanks

See I've been there looking, but I think his VIN# is confusing me... There doesn't seem to be any info (on his VIN) that would show what color the interior is according to the sites I've been looking at.

Because the color is not in the vin #.

Open the driver's door and you will see a trim tag on the body, near the door hinge. That gives you the exterior and interior color codes as it left the factory. Go the link and look them up. ie. 74c is dark red cloth, 752 is medium red leather, etc.

Ah! I'll have to stop by tomorrow and get all that info for him. He's getting ready to move onto something a little different. Shame too, this is a sharp looking car. He just wants a little more HP without destroying a classic.

None of that information is in the VIN. Colors are on the trim tag on the driver's door hinge post.

If your uncle has a St. Louis car, have him go here http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/...x.php?cmd=area and see if he can obtain a copy of the dealer invoice for his car.

If he has a Bowling Green built car, he can contact the National Corvette Museum. They might have a copy of his build sheet. https://store.corvettemuseum.com/ser...buildsheet.asp
