Default exhaust source question

What is or where is the best source for stock exhaust from manifold to tail pipe for our C3's

I've really been thinking about putting it back to stock vs the side pipes on it now.

Two that I've heard about are Allen's and Gardner exhaust systems, I think Gardner only do 1953 thru 1974 www.gardnerexhaust.com .sorry couldn't find a website for Allen's try to google it and see what comes up. You could also try some of our forum sponsors like Wilcox, I think he's having a Spring sale.Paragon, Corvette America or Eklers would also be worth checking out.Hope this helps

Roy

Do you have a muffler shop near you? Some of them have the receipes for bending stock pipes.

+1 for Allen's, in Logansport, IN: http://www.allencorvetteexhaustsystems.com/

I've been told they supplier most, if not all, of the big Corvette catalog companies with their exhausts.

Hi stl,
I changed from side exhaust, to under-car exhaust on my 71 last year.
I was very pleased with the aluminized/welded 2" exhaust system from Corvette Central.
They even had a shipping special for $35 which made it quite a good deal.
They went on much easier than I thought they would.
The decision for exhaust tips... SS/Chrome... is a bit more difficult and $$$... unless you have the originals!
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

I've been real happy with the fit of my Corvette Central exhaust on my '68. I'd go with them again in a second!!

as you see in Alan's pic, the hard part is getting your exhaust cutout in the back correct, both with the fiberglas work and bonding strips, along with the bezels and tips. Matching the paint and painting, and the correct bonding strips so your bezels will screw in. Then you have hangers, heat bypass valve, and exhaust manifolds ( if you have headers currently)..

there's a lot more to it than the pipes themselves.
