Default Rear Courtesy Light?

Hey all,

I see some cars have a rear courtesy light - at the back of the storage area behind the seats. Was this an option, or maybe only came on some years?

Thanks,
Adam

OK.. thanks Sarge. They should have kept that option - great place for an extra light.

Maybe it's part of an optional lighting group or something like that?

My 76 has one also. Check to see if someone replaced the carpet sometime and forgot to cut it back in.

I don`t know, but our 71 has one, and it`s a basic coupe with very FEW options.

I've had the carpet out, but it has been replaced before that. Didn't see any wires back there and I didn't notice any mounting hole(s) but I wasn't looking for them either. I'll take a closer look when I wire up the speakers.

Thanks for the info guys,
Adam

Hi Adam
There was a metal plate mounted on the rear bulkhead (under the carpet) of the compartment that the body of the light (on top of the carpet) screwed to and then the lens snapped into place.
I think it was standard, not an option, in years I'm familiar with.
Regards,
Alan
