Who makes those bubble lights?, really nice. Do they have two or three mounting holes? Time to upgrade mine.
If I remember right, I got them from Corvette Central. It was called a Tail light Replacement kit: Bubble. The kit came with 4 bubble lenses, 4 new receptacles (3 screw), 2 new bulb holders (to convert the reverse lights to turn signals), screws, and electrical quick connectors.
I modified the lens receptacles so that they would sit absolutely flush within the fiberglass on the custom rear end. This involved me cutting off an inch or so off of each of the receptacle stand-offs. I also painted the outside and rim of the holders flat black, so no white was visible with the lenses installed. Last, The holders are all mounted with the same orientation (just me being ****).
It's a nice clean look and works well with the custom rear end.
On my 77 My plans is to install a 1980 rear fiberglass bumper.
Red bubble tail lights. And I have have a set of 2x6 inch halogen driving lights.
I'm going to mold into the lower bumper cover. Above the exaust tips.
I purchsed two extra pigtails wired them into the tail light harness. The lenses look stock. LEDs are brighter and safer than the old lights. The reverse lights are in the license plate frame. Four tail lights look alot better than two. They should all have four tail lights like the 68's! They look better!
