what do having T3 headlights mean? how are they different? why are they desirable? did other old cars have them or just early C3's? just wondering because I've seen that term being used.
For originality sake they're nice to have since they were the type of headlights early C3's came with. I have an original set but don't use them. I replaced them with a repo set from Letric Limited...better lighting and more reliable.
There is a sort of "cult" that loves to see things on these cars that are exactly like they had when they left the factory. Of course, several headlamps would have burned out by now on every C3 ever made. And there are only so many NOS T3 headlamps in the world. But it's "important" [to some] that these cars be correct!
The rest of us just want working lamps when we drive.
They are en excellent way to make $10 a piece from a dumb *** who loves yellow light!
A few years back my father in law was bringing these headlights home from an old salvage yard close to where we live. He paid $1 each. He had bushel baskets full ! He sold them to a dealer @ carlise $6 each
Hey, Mike gets all pissy when I use proper titles. So, I'm learning from him and not 'pointing fingers' any more. I'll leave it to the reader to just "imagine" whom I'm referencing.
Jeez....$100+ for repoped T3 bulbs, just so some unnamed folks can ogle with pride. One would have to be a masochist to do that for someone else's enjoyment.
But, if one wants to do that for their own pleasure, it's still a free Country. Knock yourselves out.
