Default UPS guy

Ok everyone gets to know the UPS guy probably on a first name basis. I'm no different. Well today now that the LS3 is running my car was in the driveway as I worked some on the interior. Much easier in daylight with doors wide open. So I hear the UPS truck come down the road and go by my house. No big deal. Then he fires the truck up and comes back and parks at my driveway. Now I'm under the dash and he strolls up and says I got to see this car. Well turns out he is a car guy also and was drooling over my car so I fired it up for him. I think he almost wet his pants. He says the women just don't get this but it is better than sex. Well maybe not that good but we got the point. We talked for about 15 minutes and my wife came out and said we have to get a picture of this for the forum So here you go. Pretty cool guy. I said when it is done we will go for a ride. He said you have a deal.

Very cool! Nice to see a photo of you also after reading all of your posts for so long. My UPS guy brought me parts and asked how it was going each day. My car is out getting the body work done so I have not had any deliveries of late, but I am sure once it come back so will the UPS guy.

Nice moment.

My guy's name is Mike and he's seen my car many times....always interested in what I'm doing next and always trying to guess what part he's delivering for it.

My UPS guy, delivered to my wife's office the other day. She started talking to him, she told him that he delivers to our house frequently. Just my luck the guy blurp's out my address. The next time I seen him, we had a laugh. From that day on he agreed to leave the packages behind the gate. It's made my life alot easier, until my wife catches on.
I can imagine the money, that I've spent with UPS during my restoration.

My UPS driver is retiring at the end of the month. He's been delivering a huge number of parts to me for the past two months. The other day he asked if I was going to be ready to run the car before he retired. I said "absolutely!". He said "Good. Because I want to see the car I've been working on before I retire!"

I have enjoyed this post! My UPS guy drops by on occasion to see "what I am up to." I use the opportunity to whine about brokerage fees and the business he has lost from me. But that is not his fault. But I guess UPS is feeling the pinch. Airplanes in deserts.

Not UPS related but the Canada Post delivery driver in my area has delivered so many parts to my door that he just walks thru the front door and yells out "car parts are here". We have become pretty good friends over the years. He is a car guy also - likes Mustangs. Sometimes he is more excited than me in finding out what he is delivering to my house.

I know my UPS guy well. I had a package that had to have a signature and I missed him. He saw me driving down the road and started flashing his lights and waving at me. I flip around and at the next parkign lot he had pulled in so I pulled in next to him. As I walked up to the truck he stepped out and handed me my box and the clip baord for my signature and greeted me with "I figured you were waiting on this!". You cant beat that kind of service.

Cool thread!

Would bet that 99% here have some level of bromance with their UPS guy. Anyone bringing those parts gets special recognition.

Great thread.... I too am a UPS driver and a corvette guy...
But when im on route I look for all the corvettes I can find and make sure that I take a little extra good care of them...
Not that I dont take care of all my customers anyway..

I have a few people that I make sure and stop and see what kind of projects they have going on.. I also give out my cell to a few special people just incase they want to come find me early if that have something special they want to come get..
I have this one older guy that has a hugh garage with 4 cars under his house, he ha 2 older fords(34-35 coups) with LSx motors and a few older model t's and I ALWAYS stop and see how hes doing.. He has every piece of equipment you could think of... He makes all his parts , fads all his own.. you name it he does it.. Such a great guy......

Nice jod Gordon.... If it was me as your driver id love a ride in your ride too...LOL

This was a drive your ride to work day ...
