Just shows you what natural athletic ability, determination, hard practice and great imagination can do if you put them together. There were many golfers in the 1940-1970's that never took a lesson from anyone except a (non-pro) relative. And, some of them had superb creative skills too: Palmer, Chi Chi Rodriquez, Lee Tevino, and others.
Bubba Watson is really a 'throw-back' to that era, and I'm thrilled that present day golf fans got to see what individual skill and creativity can do over the 'canned' golf training of the present day. There are more "good" pro golfers today than in the past, because of that scripted training which gives everyone the same, well-based fundamentals. But, that doesn't really teach the creative side of golf. But, Bubba showed it off just fine, yesterday.
