Default Sooo not what I needed

I might have to come back and tell the whole story later. Because my nerves are shot.

Long story short...went to go test drive a car to kick off my rekindled search....

I wen't off road twice...ran 2 stop signs, almost ran over a worker telling me to stop because a tractor was backing up in the street...and more....why

NO BRAKES! WHAT THE F(*$(*&#$(*&@(*&@#()*&(*&$%*^T(!*&)(*&!) (*&#)*($&()*#&)(&*@)#(*)(@*#)(*)(*@#$)(& *$)*(#&()*&CK

Hope you are OK. If the car is damaged, that's the owner's problem. If he's trying to dump car damage onto you, call your insurance company and explain what occurred. If you have personal injuries, the seller is liable for letting you drive a "defective" vehicle (or one he resonably should have known could be defective).

Considering your history maybe you should be looking for something else - maybe a Toyota. I'd rather see you bored than dead!

I'm fine...I have no idea how I made it through that...but I did.

I almost ran into the back of a 18 wheeler with like industrial poles sticking out the back... I had to pull the E-brake, through the damn car in reverse and step on the gas to get the bastard to stop a foot from it.

Went around a car and a stop sign, off the road and I just knew I was going to get t-boned again. FUUUGGGGG

I know! What are the odds...I cussed the dude out when I made it back to the dealer...the **** sucker said "Man I am sure you didn't need that after your accident" I almost flipped out.

Fudge...this might be a sign.

After the first incident, when you knew the regular brakes didn't work... why the next?

I did have the brake pedal pin fall out on me once. Extremely lucky that it came out at the end of a drive right in front of my house so when I hit the brakes near my driveway.... nothing! I was only going about 25 mph at the time. What really freaked me out was the "what ifs" .... I could have been approaching a stop sign, a traffic light... I was very lucky.

I think after the first problem I would have parked the car and called the owner to tell him where it was.

Well 3 of the incidents happened in less than 45 seconds. They couldn't be avoided. I didn't write them in chronological order.

if they are crap , tell'em to fix the brakes & call ya when they are ready to test-ride

i rented a uhaul to go up north & had no brakes for the trip home...when the manager asked why i did not fill up the fuel i went balistic on him...

The salesman probably had the shop foreman pull the car off the lift in the shop when you called to say you were ready for a test drive. True story... a friend of mine's main squeeze bought a used Toyota minivan and complained to Gordon that the car made horrible graunchy noises when she ran over the curb cut to pull into her driveway, or went over speed bumps in her apartment complex.

It turns out that the repair shop was just finishing up installing a new transmission when Peggy called to set up a test drive, so "intrepid salesman" went out and demanded they pull the thing off the rack for a customer test. The entire engine cradle was held in by two loose bolts, with the remaining hardware... and the technician's Snap-On ratchet and rack of metric sockets left on a shelf on the firewall. The undertray/airdam was behind the back seat! I bolted it all back together for her, and when asked how much she owed I said that poor machanic had paid me enough in tools to cover the expense.

I will NEVER buy a used car from a dealership ever, ever. I think if I were you I'd start looking here and on other enthusiast forums where real people with no sales agenda sell better than average vehicles they actually give a s**t about. I'm glad you survuved this one as well!

It sounds like these issues come up when you call ahead. Easy fix, don't do that. Just show up. If it is not ready, their loss.

BTW, glad to see you are ok. It sounds like driving in Haiti. No breaks and everyone drives like the own the road.
