You have to remove the radio/center instrument cluster.
There are 2 studs/nuts that connect the bottom of the cluster to the front of the center console that you can't see, in addition to the screws around the frame and wiper control.
Careful of the oil line that runs from behind and below the distributor to the back of the gauge.
Everything attaches to a plastic framework that then attaches to the cluster from the back.
Here's a pretty good pic of the studs on the bottom.
What ever you do, do not pull on the thin top portion of the bezel or it will snap. Thank you Chevy for not putting this in the 68 repair manual. It is in big bold letters in the 69 repair manual. Ask me how I know.
The bad thing Mike, was that they changed the mold and you could not buy a smooth 68 bezel anymore. I tried when the car was only 4 1/2 years old. Lou.

Yah. One year only and GM did not keep them very long.
