Default Avatar help

OK I'm an idiot. I can post pictures no problem. Can't edit my avatar. Every time I edit it says upload unsuccessful. Trying to post a picture from my computer option 1. What am I doing wrong ? Seems like it should be easy.

Hi John,

Make sure it meets the size requirements. Here is a note from the area you upload the file:

Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 150 by 150 pixels or 24.4 KB (whichever is smaller).

If you want to email the photo you want I'll size it for you. PM me and I'll give you my email address.

No worries. I do graphics for living so it would just take me a minute. The offer is there if you change your mind.

If you have a photo editing appl. like Adobe Photoshop, or Photoshop Elements, you can pretty easily reduce the size of a photo to match the requirements. Another thought is if you have Windows Vista or later, you can use a little utility called Snipping Tool to grab a portion of the photo you want to use.

There are probably other ways of getting the size small enough to use for a avatar, perhaps others will chime with ideas.

Open picture in Microsoft Office Picture Manager; Select edit picture; Enter size in pixels...Picture is now resized. Save under another name and submit the new edited picure as your avatar.

If you upload through photobucket you can also resize it in their edit tool. When you click edit on the photo.. go into advanced mode... then Image-> image size -> 150x150
