Default oil pressure conversion mech/elec and seat belt warning light

converting my 71 mech. oil pressure gauge to 74 oil pressure gauge. need to know what size wiring to use? 14 or 16 gauge? what size fitting is needed to mount pressure sender to block? does it require 45 degree fitting??
2nd question I have the seat belt warning light in the small gauge bezel. but, theres no wire attached. also, the seat belts have no place for a pick-up? what gives? I fine no mention or illistrations in my AMI/AMA or other books I have....need info, please...
thanks Mike

Concerning the seat belt light, it is only a reminder light to put on your seatbelt, there is no electrical connection to the belts.

To be honest, I don't recall what gauge wiring I used on mine - you could just use the 14 to be sure, although we're not talking much current, so it probably doesn't really matter. I mounted the sender on the block just above the oil filter, and I don't remember what fitting I used (actually, I'm not sure one was needed). But I definitely don't remember using a 45 degree fitting at all.

Regarding the seat belt light, on my '72 there is definitely wiring that connects to the seat belt mechanism (it's not just a "reminder light" as MelWff stated), but I don't know if that's true for a '71.

I found the wiring diagram(seat belt warning) and the hook-up is to the seat belt for 72, But the 71 is strictly the seat belt warning light in the small gauge bezel which come on when starting and is turned off by pressing the push button. Now, if I could find the correct wire from the harness, All I have is the post and nut..
Haven't checked out the oil pressure sender location, Will try direct connection without a fitting to block.. Thanks. love this site. Mike

the original wires on cars with an electric gauge were 18 gauge wires. Dark blue and Pink were the colors..
