Quality of differentials available from vendors
Am curious if anyone can offer opinions as to the quality of the differentials available for sale from the different vendors. The various vendors all offer them up for sale, are these units all being manufactured from one source, and then sold at the various vendors? Has anyone here purchased one of these units and offer up any reviews as to the quality?
Thanks-Jeff

Hi JB,
I believe I'd talk to Bairs Corvettes.
They're located in north-western Pennsylvania, and have a long and good reputation.
Regards,
Alan

if you have the time to have your rebuilt, I'd look up Traccdog on this site, and have him rebuild your current one. Lots of people here can vouch for Mikes work.
He did mine
Thanks

With the traveling my job has me doing, what I don't have is alot of time. With the differential changeout, I'm also looking at having a different gearset. So I will be installing a new/rebuilt unit. Traccdog has a great reputation. Just looking to see if anyone can speak as to the quality of the units sold by the various Corvette vendor site sponsors. As I should be back home in 2-3 weeks, I would like this at home when I arrive.

With tracdogg, you'll know what's in your diff, and how well done the job is. He will also do some preventive-type work that will ensure the longevity of the diff.
With the vendors, you never know what monkey did the work, or the quality of the parts used in the rebuild.
Do some research on the other 'vette forums, chiefly posts by GTR1999.
It's your money...

GTR1999 rebuilt my T/A arms and I could not be happier. Mike (Tracdogg2) is getting my diff next week. These two guys are great. And the money is well spent on something that you can TRUST!

I do my own rebuilds, and would only reccomend Richmond Ring and ponions, cost a little more but i believe the steel is better/stronger
and i do like the eaton carrier and the carbon fiber clutches... but some will have a different take on the clutches i think.
