I purchased new door panels a few weeks ago and had a problem with them. The look and trim pcs. were great but the plastic clips weren't holding the panels to the door. When Corvette America found this out the Company President had his work crew repair the panels to my satisfaction. I have to say I'm impressed when the Company President personally takes the time to solve a customer problem. Here are some pictures of the finished product.
So they didn't fix the problem overall, but only your set of panels by using your proper parts from the old panels !
This satisfies you, but surly not the next customer who orders panels.
I am due for a set of early 68 panels , but am reluctant to order .

The problem is the clips are a hit or miss deal. Sometimes they work and sometimes not. Even the original clips from the factory didn't always hold. The factory fix was to apply some glue during assembly and that was one of the options for my panels. I have new weatherstrip and probably will have to remove the panels to adjust the door window. That is why I didn't glue them. Best bet is to install the panels and the clips that don't hold get or use your factory clips at the trouble spot. Another idea I had is to install some metal brackets like the 2 that are on the sides on the bottom of the door. Not original but does anyone look? I hope this helps.
68 Panels are different than 69-up panels. I would try Al Knoch door panels. I can't believe that the factory would glue the "velcro snaps" together to hold them.Never heard of this.
Mike, I documented some interior items and the outside mirror change in the middle 70's on 68's before the NCRS did. I noticed the differences and started collecting the data and the S/N on 68's. They claim the first door pull was used up to at least s/n 15,776. I found them up to 16,825. They claim after s/n 19,533 the second horizontal camaro handle was added. I found them starting with 17,846. This isn't exact, just the cars that I ran across in N.E. Ohio. But we had vettes from all over attend All Corvette Day at Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky,Oh. When I can find my info, I will have to share it with the 68-69 NCRS guy. Most of my information was published in the April 1977 issue of Vette Vues magazine.
