Forward Console Repair "68"

Need to repair the mounting holes for the shifter plate to be attached. I bought a repair kit for this purpose. Anyone install this kit? If so any pictures. Do I just hot glue the brackets to the under side? Seems ovious this how, but checking. Also I noticed the on the forward brackets, they will cover the mounting holes for the fiber obtic bezel. I fiigure I just need to remove or drill a hole to allow the potrusion to pass through. Well any advise would be appreciated. Sorry my spell check was not working.

I have done the repair and it is installed so no pictures. If I recall, the hot glue did not hold and I ended up using JB Weld. One it was cured it was perfect.

I used the same kit and also used JB Weld to hold it.
I cut the supplied pieces to get a better fit for everything.

Yep... it rivets (or glues) to the bottom.. and the small rivets are not included. It's been that way for years. But it sure beats the alternative.
