Luggage rack fitment
Had the tank out so I figured I would redrill the holes for the rack I had. The holes were filled but visible from the bottom with the tank out. I drilled the six holes and guess what? The racks bottom holes were good but the top two are off by an inch. I think there are two different racks (6 hole) . Iam in carlisle this weekend so I mearsured mine before I went. From the bottom hole to the tops were 151/4 on the rack. The holes on the car were 14 1/4. I saw a rack in carlisle and mearsured it at 14 1/4 but it was not for sale.Then I saw another for 25$ and it was 15 1/4. I may have to drill holes in the rack an inch shorter. Can I get some input to the spacing of the holes on a few members racks? Thanks

GM used different suppliers for racks and the hole position differed from manufacturer to manufacturer.
Corvette owners get burned by this all the time. People will throw away a luggage rack, repaint a car, and then buy a new repro rack, only to find that the holes in their car don't match the ones on the new rack!
