Default New Valve Covers

I'm looking to get some new valve covers. This seems like a very dumb question. And one where I'm sure to catch some flak. But I know that my 78 stock valve covers on the number one side has two ports; a hose at the front of the engine, and a cap at the rear for oil. For the life of me, I can't find a set that has two on one side. Can someone help a poor nugget out!? I feel so stupid, because I feel like there is an obvious answer, and I just don't know it. Any help is appreciated!

Hey dgheinen,

You don't need two ports, when you need to top off your oil just unplug the port with the hose and pour your oil there.

Thanks for the info! See, now I just feel dumb. But I appreciate the help!

I'm going to keep the stocks. I just don't know where I'm gonna put it all; I live in a barracks room with two other guys, so space is limited.

Local self storage rental may be in your future. Most are $20/mo. Good luck.

If you have the urge to do something with your valvecovers, pull 'em off, clean 'em up, paint 'em, and re-install with fresh gaskets. That will satisfy the itch for awhile. Maybe get fancy and paint 'em black, or aluminum, maybe even use a wrinkle finish paint.

Keep the shiny side up!
