I know how it works and how to fix it. I just don't want to. My car is not a show car with all of the proper bolt-head markings, it's a bit of a hot-rodded driver. As such, I'd rather have a reliable, lightweight system that works rather than the Rube Goldberg-ish mess Zora stuck us with for some unknown reason.

So I'm in the same boat...
Swapping engines and will have less vacuum to run things. Plus, all my vacuum lines are really old and definitely need replacing. It would just be so much cleaner to switch to electric actuators. I've been wanting the McSpeed kit for some time now, but without knowing the sizes of the parts in the bracket kit it's not really possible. I'm sure he spent a lot of time figuring out all the dimensions and such.
I've looked at the two kits that are out there, Retro-electro and ECPB (which is the Ecklers kit), but I really don't want to spend $990+ on an electric conversion (just like everyone else that's posted). I mean if I really don't have enough vacuum I can get a vacuum reservoir canister for around $70 and replace the hoses for something like $20-30.
I'm sure it would be appreciated by all if the sizes of parts and dimensions of the bracket we posted by someone with the McSpeed kit...

Barn Doors
I have always felt the C3 pop up lights were the worst feature on the car. During the day....when the lights are down..you have a nice clean looking front end...but when the sun goes down...and the lights come up....holy crap!! talk about.."butt ugly" It's like someone opened up
two barn doors on the front of the car. We won't even discuss the problem with vacuum systems.. I'm sure it must do wonders for the aerodynamics of the car, with the lights up.
The C2 lights were not all that pretty when they were out either..but
much better then the C3. With the C4 and C5...the headlights in the up position were not quite so hidious, but still a distraction.
Maybe we should only drive C3's at night. LOL
